About the artist Martha Carey

Over the last seven years, Martha Carey’s intense abstract oil paintings have been presented at galleries across Seattle, including in group shows at ArtsWest, VAIN studios, Forgotten Works, Queen Hotel Studios, Patricia Cameron Gallery and the 2005 PONCHO fine art auction. She had her first solo show at Seattle's Gallery 6311 in 2003 and her second solo show at that gallery in 2006. She currently has several paintings on view at Oasis Art Gallery in Seattle, and her next solo show will be at Oasis at the end of 2008.

Carey was born in Connecticut in 1966, earned her BA at Carleton College, and earned her MA at Simmons College.  She has studied photography, drawing, and design.
