Working in abstraction is more powerful to me than the use of language, or persuasion of any kind, and my paintings tend to be about where one could possibly go when not restrained or bounded. I was born in 1966 and raised in Connecticut, received my BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Carleton College in 1988 and my MA in Teaching from Simmons College in 1991, and went on to study drawing under Philadelphia-based artist Scott Noel. I started to paint abstractions and to show my work in Seattle after moving to that city in 2001. Group and solo shows followed, as well as exclusive representation in Seattle by Oasis Art Gallery until early 2009. I now live and paint in Mountain View, California.
